What Is Chiropractic?
Chiropractic is a natural, drug-free form of alternative health
care. Chiropractors treat patients by manipulating or adjusting
the bones and joints of the spine.
Chiropractic is a branch of the healing arts, which
is based upon the understanding that your body is a self-regulating
organism that depends in part on a normally functioning nervous
system. The nervous system is comprised of the brain and spinal
cord. The spinal cord is encased and protected by 24 moveable bones
called vertebrae. The important nerves that connect your brain to
the rest of your body pass between the vertebrae. Misalignments
or restricted motion in these vertebrae affect the nerves that pass
between them and in turn affect the nervous system. When this occurs,
the body will not be able to function optimally or properly. The
result is a host of problems, including pain. |
